What is a Green Cleaning Program?
A Green Cleaning Program uses non-toxic cleaning agents and procedures that ensure the health and wellness of building users. It reduces the exposure of occupants to chemical, biological and particulate contaminants while diverting all available materials from landfills to appropriate waste streams.
How do we use it?
Our Green Cleaning Program has been in place for years because of our unique on-site Wastewater treatment plant. Cleaning equipment must meet stringent standards for filtration levels, sound levels and operator safety. All of our pre-approved cleaners meet or exceed EcoLogo standards, resulting in attainment of green cleaning credits for our LEED Platinum certification. Staff are encouraged to report any deficiencies through a web reporting tool so that the Facility and Jan-Pro staff can respond in a timely manner.
How does it make us more sustainable?
The Green Cleaning Program ensures that the indoor environment is a healthy, productive place to work that minimizes the environmental impact of everyday office tasks. Each workstation has small waste diversion stations to allow sorting of garbage, compost and recycling. All cleaning products supplied must meet stringent standards to reduce waste and chemical use. From using concentrated cleaners that reduce packaging to dusting with water-dampened microfiber towels, the green cleaning program keeps our treated water and offices sustainably clean.
