What are Store Fixtures?
Fixtures can include retail space, shelves, storage cupboards or custom task furniture. They should be built with no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that will reduce office air quality, be made from recyclable or renewable materials and be recyclable at the end of their useful life.
How do we use them?
Examples of our office fixtures include recycling and waste diversion stations, an employee library and print shop light tables, storage and drying racks. Each location is active during occupied hours and was made locally from responsibly harvested wood in CBSF’s low-waste facility. All of these fixtures compliment the architecture of the building and were manufactured with sustainability in mind.
How does it make us more sustainable?
Material selection plays a vital role in office fixtures. The wood used in our fixtures was harvested responsibly using Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood. The steel used in hinges and brackets is recyclable and contains high recycled content. The fixtures were manufactured and assembled less than ten kilometers from the ERC in Woodbridge, not shipped from thousands of kilometers away, reducing the transportation impact of the product.
