What is Power Monitoring?
Power Monitoring equipment measures energy consumption and demand of the various building subsystems. It provides visibility as to how and where energy is being consumed, informing system operation, upgrades and troubleshooting efforts. It also tracks gas, thermal energy and water consumption, allowing for a total picture of how the building is operating.
How do we use it?
ION Enterprise is connected to our building automation system, which can operate systems based on consumption, occupancy and even the time of day, to minimize the cost of energy consumption. We track over 80 different subsystems to determine where to focus our conservation and operational efforts. The system allows us to see how much water we recycled in a day, how much gas was used for humidification, or even how much energy came from the ground-source heat pump system.
How does it make us more sustainable?
StruxureWare Energy Operation provides information on how systems are actually performing. This information can be used to identify conservation efforts, track operational goals and targets and to engage tenants in conservation programs and other energy or water related projects. Simply put, it enables us to learn how to do more with every watt the building consumes and to make the most use of the water and thermal energy that the building consumes.
