The Earth Rangers Centre is headquarters to Earth Rangers, the kids’ conservation organization, dedicated to educating children and families and biodiversity and inspiring them to become directly involved in protecting animals and their habitats.
In a recent post, A Building that Takes Teaching to the Next Level, we talked about how thousands of professionals and students visit the ERC each year to see first-hand how this advanced green building operates.
But did you know, the ERC also offers the ideal location for corporate retreats, customer, employee or community events and meetings. Rather than conducting business in a stuffy hotel with dark boardrooms (where parking is often limited) invite your clients, associates and employees to spend the day in a spacious, relaxed and dynamic space surrounded by the lush setting of the Kortright Centre.
Below are just a few examples of how groups make use of our space and surrounding grounds.
Corporate Volunteering
ING DIRECT is a regular visitor to the ERC bringing groups of newly hired employees out for a day of tree planting and land restoration. To date we have hosted 150 new hires resulting in 600 hours of volunteering in and around the ERC. The day includes a Meet & Greet with some of our amazing Animal Ambassadors and lunch provided by our on-site café.
TD employees are also regular visitors to the ERC where they host an annual volunteer tree planting event as part of their TD Tree Days program. This year 140 volunteers planted 575 trees over forty acres, a significant contribution to project iRestore, Earth Rangers’ own habitat restoration project to help bring back the wild.
Facility Rentals
The ERC also has amazing indoor spaces that can accommodate both large and small groups. Enbridge routinely makes use of our fully equipped theatre and two large boardrooms and has held over 20 charettes with 40 participants in each group. These design sessions are part of Enbridge’s Savings By Design program, which provides incentives and resources to build commercial buildings and homes that are at least 25% more energy efficient than the 2012 building code. The ERC is helping to inspire these builders to achieve amazing efficiency results.
Events
The Solar Academy has brought four groups of students to the ERC for a building tour and held their Certificate Graduation Ceremony near our solar panels, a fitting backdrop for their event.
Modern Niagara hosted their Employee and Family Appreciation Day at the ERC which included a tour of the facility, a birds of prey flying experience in our outdoor aviary, our Bring Back the Wild show and lunch from our on-site café.
A day spent at the ERC is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Learn more about hosting your next event at the Earth Rangers Centre.
